OUR STORY
About the Center for Faith, Work, & Economics
The Center for Faith, Work & Economics exists to inspire and equip Christians to connect biblical truth to their vocations and economic decisions, fostering individual flourishing and societal good for the glory of God.
Originally founded in 2011 by the late Hugh Whelchel as the Institute for Faith, Work & Economics (IFWE), the ministry has long been a leading voice in helping Christians view their daily work as a God-ordained calling. In December 2024, IFWE joined the Coral Ridge family of ministries and now operates as the Center for Faith, Work & Economics under the Institute for Faith & Culture. Dr. Robert J. Pacienza, Senior Pastor of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church and President of IFC, serves as President of the Center.
This partnership brings together two complementary missions:

We are honored to carry forward Hugh Whelchel’s legacy. His widow, Leslie, reflected:

The Center for Faith, Work & Economics will continue producing rich biblical resources, teaching, and discipleship tools while expanding their reach through the broader platform of the Institute for Faith & Culture.
