Video: Is Individualism Good or Bad?

As Americans, individualism is just part of our culture. And with the advent of iPhones and iPads, we often rely more on our gadgets than on other people.

What should Christians think about this? Is autonomy a good thing, or should we be more dependent? In an interview at Sovereign Hope Church, Hugh Whelchel argues that we need both:

We have to understand that God has called us together as the body of Christ…I tell people all the time, God doesn’t need any more spiritual lone rangers; that just doesn’t work in the body of Christ. And there’s a sense that we think its either/or. We think that we either have to be dependent on everybody—and we think that’s a bad thing—or we have to be independent. But the reality is that there’s a central place that I think Christians need to go for.

What’s that central place, that “happy medium?” Find out by watching the video or by reading more here.

Editor’s note: We’d like to extend a special thanks to Sovereign Hope Church for this interview.
