The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work and take care of it.

This verse, Genesis 1:25, points the worth and dignity of work. It, along with other passages of Scripture, can give us guidance as we think through how we integrate faith, work, and economics.

A lot of debate has sprung up around the Department of Health and Human Services’ new policy directives concerning welfare. What do these new directives mean for the nature and dignity of work?
