GENDER

Today’s kids are growing up in a world full of confusing messages about gender and identity. This video helps elementary-aged children explore the question “Who am I?” by contrasting the shifting foundation of feelings with the unchanging truth of God’s design. Rooted in Genesis 1:26, it offers a hopeful, age-appropriate reminder that their value and purpose come from being created by a loving God.

FAMILY DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1. What are some ways you would describe yourself?
(Let each person share words like “funny,” “kind,” “creative,” etc.)

2. Read Genesis 1:26–27 together. What does it mean that we are made “in God’s image”? How does that make you feel?

3. What’s the difference between letting our feelings define us and letting God define us? Can you think of a time when your feelings changed quickly?

4. Why do you think it’s sometimes hard to believe what God says about who we are?

5. Read Psalm 139:13–14. What do these verses tell us about how God made you? Why is that special?

6. When the world tries to tell you something different from what God says, how can you remember the truth?

7. What’s one way we can remind each other this week that our identity comes from God, not from the world?
(You could write a note, memorize a verse, or pray together.)
